What is Reiki energy healing?

Reiki is universal Life force energy, which connects and flows through all living things. It is a Japanese system of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a complete holistic system of well-being, incorporating mindfulness, meditation, breath-work, and Ki energy healing.

Reiki translates from 2 Japanese words; rei meaning a higher power, or source, and ki meaning energy, also known as chi or prana.

Usui Reiki was discovered in the early 1900's by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist monk.
Reiki is is not just for people; it’s also perfect for animals too.

What is Animal Reiki and how does it benefit my pet?

Animal Reiki is a gentle energy healing method that reduces stress, enhances relaxation, and supports your pet’s overall well-being.

Animal reiki is practiced in such a way that each session is tailored to the individual needs of the animal.

In an animal reiki session, the animal leads the session and treatments are usually between 30 and 60 minutes duration.

Receive a Pre-session Calming Plan, a brief audio meditation to practice with your animal, priming you both for tranquil bonding oportunities with ease.

In my experiences over the years providing Reiki to both people and animals, more often than not, any emotional stress the animal is displaying, often direectly correlates to any life challenges that the human is facing.

It is always recommended to consult with medical professionals prior to commencing any new regimes, as Reiki is never a substitute for professional veterinary and or medical treatment care.

How do you conduct a typical Reiki session for animals?

During in-person sessions, the practitioner generally travels to meet the animal client. Sessions with Lainey are trauma-informed, meditation based Reiki energy healing sessions.

Following proven SARA technques, Lainey facilitates, a soft, gentle energetic space, with a hands-off approach, respecting autonomy, consent, free-will, allowing each session to unfold at the animals own pace.

Animal Led Reiki sessions not only provide a calming and nurturing energy environment to relieve stress, but also demonstrating Respect, Love, Compassion, Kindness that  human beings are capable of.

For many animals recovering from their own unique rescue situation, this often can be the very first opportunity to experience gentleness and kindness ever, and begin to unlock the healing process.

For remote sessions, the animal client remains in their own space, and can move around freely, while the session is completed over the phone, online or off technology.

A short follow-up debrief or written summary of the session is available afterwards as part of our Well-being After-Care service.

Can Reiki help with my pet’s anxiety issues?

Please seek professional Veterinary advice for your animals if they are displaying any behavioural anxiety related issues. Reiki is a not a replacement, but a complementary therapy, which may speed up recovery enhancing the overall healing process.

Yes, Reiki is known to help reduce anxiety in pets by promoting a calming effect and enhancing their emotional balance.

How many Reiki sessions will we need?

Reiki as a holistic complementary therapy gently restores calm, energy flow & balance, releasing tension.

Reiki sessions are most effective when given on a regular basis, especially if your pet is new to Reiki, or if they're dealing with a chronic imbalance, as the positive effects of Reiki are cumulative and build over time.

Trauma & long term emotional imbalances may require several sessions to assist in treating the original source of stagnant energy.

But even one Reiki session can help to bring your pet and yourself into a peaceful, calm & relaxed state, leaving you both feeling calm, connected, revitalised and replenished.
