Each animal that I encountered became a teacher to me, helping me to understand that all sentient beings are natural born healers, with a purpose in becoming a companion to their special person. In my &nbsp;experience all of my animal companions understood and accepted me unconditionally far more often than people ever did.Since my late teens, I have been involved in animal rescue &amp; rehabilitation, volunteering my spare time to advocate for those voiceless sentient beings, who for no fault of their own, were failed by their humans and sadly ended up in the animal rescue community. In the early 2000’s I attended an animal rescue healing workshop, where I learned about therapeutic touch and about meditating with energy healing for animals &amp; experienced Reiki for the first time, and also saw first hand, how Reiki meditation helped to provide a calming nurturing effect on most rescued dogs, cats and horses. This ignited my passion to learn more about energy healing and Animal Reiki. Since 2020, I have been actively sharing my personal Usui Reiki practice with Animals.Fast forward to June, 2024, &nbsp;this year when I decided to attend an Equine Reiki training day, with Laura Barbour, Reiki Master Teacher &amp; the wild Spanish mustangs of the <a data-mce-href="https://www.equinereikiscotland.co.uk/" href="https://www.equinereikiscotland.co.uk/">Medicine Pony Tribe</a>, which is an Accredited Animal Reiki Training Centre by the UK Reiki Federation.Let Animals Lead® is quite different from other Animal Reiki methods. It is a unique approach to sharing reiki with animals which is a meditation based foundation. Animal led reiki sessions are quite different to a standard hands-on reiki session as with people. All sentient beings are inherently natural born healers, and when we embrace ‘Being Reiki’ we choose to hold sacred space without judgement. Our hands are in the gassho position, or facing outwards, and touch is only used when the animal presents itself against our palms, indicating acceptance of hands on reiki.As Animal Reiki practitioners, we are not only embodying the Reiki precepts, we also acknowledge the <a data-mce-href="https://www.animalreikisource.com/post/the-6-pillars-of-the-let-animals-lead-method-of-animal-reiki" href="https://www.animalreikisource.com/post/the-6-pillars-of-the-let-animals-lead-method-of-animal-reiki" target="_blank" rel="noopener">6 Pillars of Animal Reiki</a> through the release of our ego’s and choose to detach from the healing outcome, viewing all animals as perfectly imperfect in that moment. We are ‘Being Reiki’ by seeking consent and offering to share unconditional Love in a safe healing space, choosing “to let go of “doing” Reiki and instead learning the healing power of compassionate presence within an Animal Reiki Meditation.” -Kathleen Prassad.&nbsp;Meditation with the Medicine pony tribe was a wonderful experience, in which I was able to return to the basics of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and put the 'Handbook of Equine Reiki' recommendations &amp; Usui Reiki Japanese meditations into practice, while surrendering fully to the healing wisdom of the wild Spanish mustangs. Wild Mustangs are incredibly sensitive to energy, scents and emotions, so to prepare myself, I took the opportunity to ground centre &amp; shield by using Kenyoko Ho, also known as dry bathing. &nbsp;Kenyoko Ho or Dry Bathing is a quick routine that you can practice at the beginning of your Usui Reiki meditation or hands-on-healing practice. It is practiced to cleanse the body, mind and spirit. We practice Kenyoku Ho with the intention to clear anything that is preventing us from being an open and receptive channel for Reiki. It can also be used to ground and disconnect from people, and situations that are taking you out of the present moment.Then I sat in meditation &amp; set my intentions - to be a clear conduit for reiki to flow for the highest good of all beings. Joshin Kokyu Ho is a foundational meditation practice in the tradition of Reiki. This practice builds the Hara, improves concentration and clears the energy field. Practise this meditation for approximately 15 minutes. This meditation can improve the flow of breath, and Reiki in the body and mind. It can lessen the effects of stress, and help you ground your energy field.Once I was sufficiently prepared energetically, I was permitted to enter the corral area where the ponies were busy eating and relaxing, while enjoying their feed. The ponies are used to a specific routine and after raising my vibration and seeking their consent, I was very hopeful to be accepted by the tribe &amp; be allowed to interact respectfully.Standing quietly and as unobtrusive as possible, I continued in the Gassho position, while practising Reiki breathwork and paying attention to their body language. Expanding my aura and widening the healing space, suddenly several ponies approached me &amp; granted permission by nuzzling my hands, and venturing closer to sniff.One of the ponies, Mystery Illusion, had decided she wanted a personal hands-on Reiki session, which according to Laura, was quite unusual for this particular lady. She placed her head into my palms for a gentle scratch and then continued moving back and forth under my hands, as she indicated she wanted a whole-body reiki energy sweep from nose to tail. She then pressed her head against my forehead and held that position for several moments, while breathing deeply and sharing her energy, she then nuzzled my neck and continued to take deep breaths, while sighing deeply. At this moment, intuitively I received an energetic download of many images in quick succession, psychically. I began explaining to Laura what I had felt, sensed, and seen, a mountain of information, I tried to accept and decipher without placing my interpretation. Laura was able to verify and confirm 8/10 of the pieces of information that the lovely and most chatty Mystery Illusion had shared with me. Over the next few hours, several other of the mustangs also approached me, eager to have my undivided attention, and take part in sharing Reiki space with me. It was such a wonderful experience. It truly was such a blessing &amp; spiritual experience I can't put into words. To let the ponies teach me, &amp; surrendering to the Wisdom and healing with the Spanish Mustang Herd was an experience to behold &amp; cherish.Thank you Laura so much, I can't wait to return again one day for Celtic Horse whispering &amp; Meditation. That day can't come soon enough.

Did you know that <a data-mce-href="https://www.reikiaustralia.com.au/reiki-australia-in-hospitals/" href="https://www.reikiaustralia.com.au/reiki-australia-in-hospitals/" title="Reiki Australia in hospitals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reiki Australia</a> is proud to announce that one of our very own Reiki Australia ARTP members and newest board member Lainey Bowler was providing Reiki treatments in a medical setting?From September - December 2023, the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Care (BRICC Wellness Centre) at Grampians Health Ballarat,&nbsp; recommenced offering Reiki Treatments to its patients on Thursday afternoons each week."The gentle nurturing Reiki energy Clients receive from a single Reiki treatment session has a tremendous positive effect on their physical, mental, emotional and Spiritual well-being.”Recent research studies into the effectiveness of Reiki treatments as part of medical care plans, is showing that Reiki treatments can have an important part in improving patient outcomes, particularly for oncology patients; improving quality of life for those with life-limiting illness, reduction of pain, reduction of side effects of chemotherapy &amp; or radiation, reduction of stress and anxiety, and supporting Spiritual and Pastoral Care.A few months ago, I ran into a friend at the supermarket who mentioned that there was a vacancy at the local hospital Oncology Wellness Centre for a volunteer Reiki Practitioner, so I applied. I was invited for an interview, demonstrated a short Reiki session for the manager while we chatted, and I was hired on the spot! Thank you Reiki.My first shift included an induction of the wellness clinic, the various rooms for various events, meeting some of the other volunteers and staff, and explanations of all the other services, therapies, and support programs running at the centre. I also was introduced to some of the patients and clients in the Cuppa &amp; Chat social room. The majority of clients that I have met have chosen to seek additional holistic support such as Reiki treatments to help reduce the stress and anxiety, and other symptoms associated with coping with their medical treatment plans. Each BRICC Wellness centre client has also commented to me that after receiving their Reiki treatment, they feel much calmer and relaxed, and look forward to their next Reiki appointment. One client experienced Reiki for the first time and was pleasantly surprised how calm he felt and said “the Reiki treatment felt like a warm &amp; fuzzy massage for his soul”. Another client told me that she found the session incredibly nurturing and soothing, felt calmer, and her headache and upset tummy had subsided considerably. Several first-time clients took the opportunity to experience a Reiki treatment, and all said they enjoyed the calming peaceful energy, and were pleasantly surprised. Many 'newbies' came back for further treatments because they enjoyed it so much, and others took a brochure to share with friends..Each Reiki treatment session approximately 30 - 45 minutes of Reiki treatment per client, to allow for cleaning between clients, infection control procedures and practising spiritual hygiene. Sessions are at hourly intervals allowing time for clients to fill out an Intake &amp; consent form, and time for discussion.&nbsp;The BRICC welIness centre is funded by community donations and is run almost entirely by volunteers who freely offer their valuable time and skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to have connected with so many lovely people through my volunteer experience. I hope our path cross again some day, but until then thank you for allowing me the privilege to hold sacred reiki space for your healing session. Reiki 'In Touch' with Hospitals

<h2> </h2><blockquote>In October I travelled to Melbourne to attend a Reiki retreat where myself, and other Reiki students were able to complete our training &amp; initiated into the 3d degree of Usui Reiki -Shinpiden. </blockquote>Day One - I woke to a beautiful morning in Melbourne, and watched air-ballons rising across the horizon as the sun rose. I shared coffee on the balcony with an inquisitive Raven with a slightly damaged feathers on her tail. She strutted over confidently and made herself comfortable watching my every move, perched on the rail. As I completed my morning ritual, and began my own self-Reiki treatment, I sudenly felt an energetic presence nearby, within my energy field. When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see the raven preening her feathers sitting only inches away. Clearly confident that I was no threat to her, she had hopped over even closer to me, gazing at me intently and was now sitting on the arm of the outdoor chair. Clearly trying to soak up the reiki energy flowing through me. (All animals love Reiki, as energy is their first language. My own pets love to demand their personal session!)She stayed there for at least 5 minutes, and began preening herself, as i watched with half-closed eyes, savouring this beautiful connection with a wild bird. Intuitively I felt she had once been someones pet, or had been hand reared at some time. As if to give me confirmation my thoughts, she stepped forward slowly, bowed her head into my hand and gently give me a shiny key-ring missing its charm. She bowed again and placed her head into my hands, bobbing her head and neck up and down for a scratch for a brief moment. The raven flew top the railing extended both her wings fully stretching, cawed 3 times and flew away. What a Blessing to receive from the universe and a truly magickal moment!Brunch, Coffee, Food and training....I was finally able to re-connect in person with my Reiki Master-Teacher, Sue who had moved interstate, but had travelled back to Victoria for this event. Yay!&nbsp; I was also looking forward to finally meeting the other Reiki students in the class, Sue W, Erin, Dee, Emma, &amp; Nuccia. After introductions, and COFFEE! Sue finally had our undivided attention and training began as the was much information to recap and learn. After a huge day, we were all energized and buzzing from the combined positive energy.That evening we all went to dinner together, chatted, laughed and bonded over sharing our stories. The food was delicious, &amp; thanks to Nuccia's knowledge of the area, we certainly were not disappointed in the culinary delights or menus.Day 2 - Training continued, and then on completion, Sue then presented each of us with our new Reiki Master Certificates. With much clapping, laughter and tears, we somehow managed to take the obligatory photos. We had decided to end the day and chose to have lunch together to celebrate our newest achievement.&nbsp; My heart was bursting with gratitude for the truly empowering experience that we shared, and the new friendships that I made. Reiki has a truly wonderful way of bringing exactly the right people into my life, at exactly the right time. That is the synchronicity of the universe..It was a lovely weekend filled with so many beautiful &amp; magickal moments. True mastery does not exist, for it is a life-long learning journey of living the Gokai, and to embody the Reiki precepts in all aspects of life.&nbsp; Just for today.... Be Reiki.As some wise old green dude once said to his students:‘Do or Do Not, there is No try’.&nbsp;
